Advanced

Administrator access, ASUS services, keyboard options, power policies and diagnostics.

Advanced contains permissions, ASUS service controls, keyboard options, the hardware overlay and Windows power settings. Hardware-specific rows depend on detected support.

Permissions

If Arsenal is not elevated, the page offers Restart as administrator. Settings also has a persistent Run as administrator preference. Elevation is needed for service control and some system and CPU operations.

ASUS services

Stop services and Start services operate on the ASUS services Arsenal manages. Stopping them also changes startup settings for those services; it is not just closing a window. The page reports progress and the resulting service state.

This can affect features provided by ASUS software. Start the services again if those features are needed. The controls do not uninstall Armoury Crate or the ASUS System Control Interface driver.

Arsenal.exe --stop-asus-services
Arsenal.exe --start-asus-services

These are fresh-launch actions; see Hotkeys and CLI.

Keyboard and chassis controls

  • Fn lock: change the supported function-row behavior.
  • Status LEDs: control supported keyboard/chassis indicators.
  • NumberPad: control the numeric pad integrated into supported touchpads.

The NumberPad setting controls hardware. Lighting’s Number pad switch only adjusts the keyboard preview.

Hardware overlay

On-screen hardware monitor enables the overlay; Only while gaming controls automatic visibility. See Hardware overlay for its display modes and shortcuts.

ROG Ally

On supported Ally hardware, the page exposes Automatic TDP and Frame rate limit. Availability and the effect of these controls depend on the handheld and graphics driver.

Power and graphics policy

SettingPurpose
PCIe link power managementChange the Windows PCIe power policy used by balanced power plans.
Standby networkingChange Windows connectivity-in-standby policy.
NVIDIA platform controllerSet Arsenal’s NVIDIA platform preference.
Close apps before Eco modeAllow closing detected dGPU applications during an Eco transition. Save work first.
Optimized mode on USB-C powerAllow automatic GPU switching while using USB-C power.

Panel overdrive

Disable panel overdrive automation stops automatic overdrive management. Force panel overdrive exposes and attempts overdrive writes even when normal detection does not report support. A forced setting cannot guarantee that the panel supports it.

Sleep, lid and window behavior

This group includes Automatic clamshell mode, firmware boot sound where supported, Always on top, Hibernate after, and separate keyboard-backlight timeouts for AC and battery. Hibernate after writes the active Windows plan’s battery hibernation timeout.

Most switches apply when changed. Save changes reapplies the page’s system settings.

Diagnostics

Windows Power Options opens the system power-plan settings. Arsenal log opens the application log, normally %AppData%\Arsenal\log.txt. It includes operations and failures useful for troubleshooting.
